Tunes United’s first release United Tunes is finally available on iTunes Music Store, the most recent releases; People and Land will follow shortly and soon also be available on Spotify. But as we are very liberal you can still also download the album for free, here.
When you get the album in your hand, you also get a postcard stamped in 1949. It all begins with Orient Express, reassembling the past into a four-minute journey. The century continues circling around such as common themes as terrifying wars and calming woodlands âŠand a little bit of the ever-present weather too! The chaos reaches a sort of anti-climax with the straight-forward stage-favourite Celestial and the narrow but dark The Night of the Storm, before diving into rockânârollier moods again.
âSödermanland is as Swedish as a song can be without being written in Swedish, giving you the pulse of a mid-eastern town in this countryâ
The last ten minutes is formed of the present world we live in now (or more like the almost ancient 1990âs). Södermanland is as Swedish as a song can be without being written in Swedish, giving you the pulse of a mid-eastern town in this country.
âIt might be a bit of a spoof. But so were the nineties. And so are Tunes United too, sometimesâ
Södermanlandâs long and almost pastoral end is the complete opposite to the sharp crescendo that cuts off the last track; What happened to Joachim Berner and What Does He Think About Klick? This tongue-in-cheek song is in fact a contrast to the rest of the record . Itâs a surprise how an album that begins with the seriousness of Orientâs lyrics can end up with an overwhelming tribute to a long-ago forgotten newspaper editor. It might be a bit of a spoof. But so were the nineties. And so are Tunes United too, sometimes.

The classic Tunes United madrigal Celestial sets the mood in the short film by Kuntzel+Deygas promoting their own Beuaty and the Beast candles for Diptyque.
The Tunes United song featured in the video is Celestial, it is one of the most popular songs in the eclectic Tunes United repertoire. It is from the debut album United Tunes released in 2006. It is almost always played live and it has been covered and remixed. The vocals are being sung by long time Tunes United colaboratist Agnes Fred.
