THE TU STORY
Tunes United is sick and tired of the delusion that nohting is left for creation,
the art of the age, turning the page, just recreating sensation. Tunes United products are in their own words progressive, innovative and always with a clear focus on quality.

“pop-music at the time was not very innovative, everyone could get a loan and everyone could do pop”
In 2005, before Google had bought YouTube and before Albert II, Prince of Monaco, reached the North Pole, to become the first reigning monarch ever to do so, the swedish progressive pop scene was at a standstill. Times were different. Due to very low interest rates in America and the ongoing inflation, most of the pop-music at the time was not very innovative, everyone could get a loan and everyone could do pop.
Four young men from Stockholm in Sweden saw this decay in the international pop-scene. Determined to change, inspired by the pioneers and inovators of the 70’s, such as Genesis, Secret Service, Kate Bush and Jean-Michel Jarre they started working on what would become the best swedish concept EP about love, war and trains (probably the first as well). The United Tunes EP. It was released the 18th of july 2007 on their own label United Tunes.

The United Tunes Ep, like a letter in the mail, as we say in Sweden
In December 2007 Tunes United conducted a big survey, asking their friends and fans how they interpret Tunes United and Their music. 146 people were asked to participate, 2 did.
The survey showed that:
- If Tunes United would have been a Web2.0 application it would do a lot of “arty” things, it would have a normal function but also do small unintelligible odd stuff. It would be humble and polite in an unbelievable, almost a bit anoying way. Probably with a little servant following it. It would look clean but dirty. It would be romantic in a 18th century way (videlicet not cute and with hearts on it but majestic, natural romantic and exposed).
- And that their music resembles Kent, Björk, Tiger Lou, Sebastien Tellier, Ken Stringfellow, Midlake and Franz Ferdinand.
“Writing songs about songs and the writers of those, songs always sung and those considered as dung, I’m a singer, I’m a songwriter, I play in a band, my music is music, I do what I can”

At the moment Tunes United is working on their new project People Land & Time, where they dive deeper into their love affair with the swedish region Södermanland. Irrational and frantic or plain national romantic? You be the judge. The Tunes United blog will constantly be updated with news regarding the project.
